To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the East Asian Library is offering free Lunar New Year stickers. The stickers are at the table near the entrance of the East Asian Library. Everyone can visit the East Asian Library on the Sub-basement floor of Wilson Library to grab the stickers.

The Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Department at UMN is co-organizing 2 screening events on Oct 31 and Nov 4, featuring the Chinese independent documentary filmmaker Jiang Nengjie.
Both screenings are open to the public. Please RSVP if you are interested.

On Thursday, February 27 from 11:30 am-1 pm, the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine (WHL) is holding a pop-up exhibit to showcase our recent acquisitions of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean materials. All are welcome to attend the pop up exhibit! WHL will also be showcasing their recent translation work through a project with Dr. Wayne Soon (HMED), which has been funded through a Creative Collaboratives grant from the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS).

The Andersen Horticultural Library is home to the largest publicly accessible collection of George and Mira Nakashima furniture. In celebration of its 50th year, the Library is hosting a weekend of special events surrounding the stunning collection of Nakashima furniture including a film screening of “George Nakashima, Woodworker,” by his nephew John Nakashima, and a special lecture by Mira Nakashima, daughter of George and Creative Director of Nakashima Woodworkers.
