Chinese Independent Documentary Screening: A Dialogue with Jiang Nengjie

The Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Department at UMN is co-organizing 2 screening events featuring the Chinese independent documentary filmmaker Jiang Nengjie. 
 
The director will be visiting on Nov. 4. The screening on Nov. 4 will be his film Miners, Groom, and Pneumoconiosis, which focuses on the illegal mining trade in Hunan province, its environmental impact, and the diseases it causes in workers. In advance of his visit, on Oct 31, there will be a screening of his film Rainbow Cruise of Love, which engages with the queer community in China. 
 
Both screenings are open to the public.
