Pop-up exhibit and Open House at the Wangensteen Library on Feb 27th, 2025

On Thursday, February 27 from 11:30 am -1 pm, the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine (WHL) is holding a pop-up exhibit "Global Exchange and Visual Culture: Rare Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Collections Pop Up Exhibit at the Wangensteen" to showcase our recent acquisitions of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean materials. All are welcome to attend the pop-up exhibit! WHL will also be showcasing their recent translation work through a project with Dr. Wayne Soon (HMED), which has been funded through a Creative Collaboratives grant from the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS).

There will be a special open house after the pop-up anytime between 2 pm and 4 pm on February 27 to chat with WHL about the WHL’s collections and how you might be able to use them in course-integrated instruction, in research, and in outreach. WHL hope this post-pop-up open house will be an opportunity for some brainstorming around collaboration for the future. If you haven’t been to the WHL recently or are curious about what kinds of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean materials we have, this is a great chance to see materials and chat with curators. There will also be information about East Asian collections at the Andersen Horticultural Library, the James Ford Bell Library, and the contemporary East Asian Library. Please feel free to pass along this special invitation to your colleagues and graduate students who may benefit from this opportunity.

If you are unaffiliated with UMN, please email WHL staff at [email protected] to receive an appointment confirmation to show to security guards.
